ABLE Instruments & Controls Ltd is the exclusive UK partner and European Service Centre for AMETEK Brookfield, formerly known as Arizona Instrument. Our long-standing relationship dates back to 1988, when Arizona Instrument recognised ABLE’s Analytical Division as the ideal UK platform to bring their products to market. Over the years, this collaboration has grown to include the establishment of a traceable calibration laboratory for Jerome® toxic gas analysers and ABLE’s appointment as the official European Service Centre for both Computrac® and Jerome® product lines.

Arizona Instrument LLC, established in 1981 by former Motorola engineers, quickly earned a reputation for excellence in precision moisture analysis and toxic gas detection. The acquisition of Jerome Instrument Corporation in 1986 expanded their expertise in mercury and hydrogen sulphide detection. In 2018, Arizona Instrument was acquired by AMETEK, Inc., and by early 2019 the company was fully rebranded as AMETEK Brookfield, aligning with AMETEK’s broader instrumentation and engineering portfolio.

AMETEK Brookfield continues to offer the trusted Computrac® and Jerome® product lines, widely used across industries for R&D, quality control, process monitoring, and environmental compliance.

Jerome® Toxic Gas Analysers

The Jerome® series delivers highly sensitive, portable, and fixed-position analysers for mercury vapour and hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) detection using gold film sensor and atomic fluorescence spectroscopy technologies.

Mercury Vapour Analysers:
Jerome® J405: 0.5 µg/m³ to 999 µg/m³ detection, 24-hour battery, one-button operation, onboard storage for 20,000 readings.

Jerome® J505: 0.05 µg/m³ to 500 µg/m³ detection using AFS, no regeneration needed, compact and highly accurate with storage for 10,000 results.

Hydrogen Sulphide Analyser:
Jerome® J605: 3 ppb to 10 ppm detection with gold film sensor technology, rugged design, 18-hour battery life, and 20,000 reading capacity.

These analysers are ideal for environmental monitoring, industrial hygiene, and regulatory compliance where low-level toxic gas detection is critical.

Computrac® Moisture, Solids & Ash Analysers

The Computrac® range delivers accurate and reliable moisture content and compositional analysis without the need for reagents. These systems are valued across the plastics, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and biomass industries.

Computrac® Vapor Pro® XL: A chemical-free alternative to Karl Fischer titration using RH sensor technology. Features include high sensitivity (down to 10 ppm), touchscreen interface, broad temperature range (25–300°C), and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance options.

Computrac® MAX® 4000XL: A robust Loss-on-Drying analyser with rapid cooling, multistage testing, real-time moisture curve display, and capacity for large sample sizes up to 40 g.

Computrac® MAX® 5000XL: Combines LOD and LOI methods for moisture, solids, and ash analysis up to 600°C, with a self-cleaning oven, one-button operation, and 100 g sample capacity.

Computrac® Vapor Pro® XL Autosampler: Offers automated moisture testing of up to 16 samples with stepped temperature profiles and high-throughput capabilities.
