United Electric Controls

ABLE’s strong affiliation with United Electric Controls (UE) spans almost 40 years, with their temperature and pressure switches and wireless ATEX, multigas detectors all being available below.

Focused on protecting equipment, processes, personnel and the environment, United Electric is a manufacturer of  standard and custom toxic and combustible WirelessHART gas detectors, electronic transmitter-switches, pressure and temperature switches, transmitters, sensors and controls for the process, discrete, semiconductor, aerospace and defence industries.  UE products, critical for safety, alarm and shutdown functions, are a result of uncompromising quality produced from innovative design and superior lean manufacturing.

United Electric pressure switches, pressure transducers and pressure transmitters, temperature switches and temperature sensors are designed for rugged, industrial environments. Explosion-proof pressure transmitters provide continuous pressure monitoring in various hazardous area applications, specifically within the oil and gas industry.

United Electric temperature sensors employ a variety of technologies including Thermocouple, RTD, Thermistor and Temperature Sensitive IC. A wide array of standard packages are available. Custom packages are routinely developed to suit specific applications.

The One Series from UE allows you to choose from explosion-proof, intrinsically safe and non-incendive models that monitor gauge pressure, differential pressure or temperature. With the 4-20 mA analog output, up to two fully adjustable switches and absolutely no moving parts, these versatile instruments can be used in a wide variety of control applications where mechanical switches weren’t previously considered. Featuring a solid-state design, UE’s One Series is your best choice for tough applications with high cycle rates, severe shock and high vibration. For plant upgrades, there are a variety of power options ranging from 2-wire analog loop-powered, discrete input powered and externally powered models that can switch up to 280 VAC at 10 amperes to the load. With an integral digital display and 4-20 mA output, the One Series from UE can effectively do the job of three – replacing a switch, a gauge and a transmitter. Powerful yet easy to install, the One Series from UE features tamper-resistance, intuitive programming, and set-up that is fast and easy.

The 120 Series offers a variety of pressure, vacuum, differential pressure and temperature ranges, as well as process connections, wetted materials and sensor types. With a common flexible platform, models can quickly be adapted at the factory

for special requirements, such as ranges, process connections and electrical ratings. Typical industries using 120 Series switches include chemical, petrochemical, refinery and oil & gas production and transmission.

The United Electric 100 Series Pressure Switch is designed to be used in a wide range of applications, from ultra-low and vacuum ranges up to 34,000 KPA. Featuring a weatherproof IP65-rated epoxy powder-coated aluminium enclosure, ensuring heat trace and freeze protection thermostats. Coming with a variety of available options, including D.P.D.T., hermetically sealed external adjustment, and more, this switch is highly adaptable and suited to many environments.

UE Spectra 12 Series Pressure Switches are ideal for operation in harsh explosive environments where space is at a premium. A snap-action Belleville Spring assembly is used to provide vibration resistance and prolonged switch life. A hermetically sealed switch and stainless-steel enclosure provide ruggedness and protection from the environment. The Spectra 12 is approved for use in hazardous locations worldwide, from offshore oil rigs to process and energy applications, to protection of capital equipment.

The Vanguard WirelessHART, fixed point gas detector is designed to monitor gas emissions in areas with power and signal wire limitations. It significantly reduces engineering and deployment time and costs. A true wireless device with 5-year battery life and wireless HART communication, Vanguard utilizes interchangeable toxic and combustible sensors including Methane (CH4), Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Ammonia (NH3), and Propane (C3H8), that can be hot swapped via UE’s patented FlexSense technology.
