Pressure Transmitters
A pressure transmitter, also known as a pressure transducer, is a device that measures the pressure of a liquid or gas and converts it into an electrical signal. The electrical signal can then be used to display the pressure measurement or sent to a controller, PLC, or data acquisition system for further processing.
Pressure transmitters can measure in various units, including pascals (Pa), bars, atmospheres (atm), and pounds per square inch (psi). The unit used depends on the application and measurement scale. They typically have a pressure sensitive surface made of steel, silicon, or other materials, and electronic components that convert the applied force into an electrical signal.
Many of ABLE’s pressure transmitters are ATEX rated for safe use in explosive environments. United Electric’s (UE) One Series Transmitter is Explosion-proof with switched relay output, 4-20 mA HART output for alarm and emergency shutdown applications.
