AMETEK Drexelbrook Z‑Tron IV Level Switch

Reliable RF Admittance Level Switch with No Moving Parts and Cote‑Shield Protection

ABLE Instruments are AMETEK Drexelbrook’s Exclusive Representative for Sales and Service in the UK and Ireland, including the Z‑Tron IV Level Switch. The Z‑Tron IV Level Switch is a rugged, one‑piece RF admittance device designed for reliable on/off point level detection. With no moving parts, it resists jamming, wear and failure, offering dependable performance in harsh process environments. Its integral Cote‑Shield circuitry prevents false signals from coatings, build-up, dust or tunnelling, ensuring accurate detection only when material reaches the sensing element.

Installation is simple—even through a single ¾″ vessel opening—and calibration can be performed rapidly on-site. The Z‑Tron IV triggers a dry‑contact double pole double throw (DPDT) relay when the set level is met, enabling control of alarms, valves, pumps and other instrumentation.

Key Features:

  • RF admittance technology: Provides accurate point‑level switching with no moving parts
  • Cote‑Shield protection: Ignores coatings, residue, dust or build‑up on the sensing element
  • Maintenance‑free design: Requires no calibration or routine cleaning
  • Compact one‑piece construction: Ideal for simple insertion via a single ¾″ vessel connection
  • DPDT relay output: Dry-contact switch for alarms, valves or control systems
  • Wide process compatibility: Operates reliably in corrosive, sticky or insulating media
  • Operating range: −40 °C to +63 °C, up to 1,000 psi (probe-dependent)
  • Simple field calibration: Easily set setpoint via potentiometer on the electronic unit

Ideal for applications across liquids, slurries, contaminants or corrosives, the Z‑Tron IV performs reliably from cryogenic temperatures (-40 °C) up to process temperatures around +63 °C (145 °F), and pressures up to 1,000 psi (approx. 69 bar), depending on probe selection. Its durable, no-maintenance design makes it ideal for continuous service without spare parts stocking or scheduled downtimes.
