J.M. Canty Inflow Portable Explosion Proof Liquid Particle Size Analyser

ABLE Instruments are J.M Canty’s Exclusive Representative for Sales and Service in the UK, including the Inflow Portable Explosion Proof Oil in Water / Water In Oil Liquid Particle Size Analyser. ATEX / IECEx Zone 1 approved and designed for on-site testing, the system’s portable design allows for rapid field analysis, delivering quick, reliable results without requiring complex lab procedures. By providing instant contamination assessment, operators can make informed maintenance decisions and optimise system performance in real time.

The Canty InFlow™ Portable Process Particle Analyser integrates advanced Ethernet technology, Canty fused glass, LED lighting, and CantyVision™ software to deliver real-time particle size and shape analysis under actual process conditions. Designed for on-line monitoring, the Portable Multiphase Meter models measure particles from 0.7 to 20,000 microns, continuously analysing oil, water, sand, and gas (OiW/WiO) without the need for sampling or lab analysis.

The system adheres to ASTM D7596 standards, classifying particles into distinct categories, including sliding, cutting, and fatigue wear particles, non-metallic contaminants, fibre particles, water droplets, and air bubbles. This structured classification provides critical insights into contamination sources, enabling operators to identify wear patterns, detect foreign particulates, and assess fluid quality with precision. By understanding the type and origin of contaminants, users can implement targeted maintenance strategies, proactively preventing equipment failures and optimising system reliability.

This portable vision-based system enables the detection and separation of all phases, providing both PPM/PPB concentration data and detailed size distribution of particulates. By offering continuous, microscopic, non-destructive viewing, it allows operators to instantly observe the impact of any changes in refining or drilling operations, optimising performance and efficiency.

Why choose the Portable Inflow Analyser? The Portable Inflow system combines high-speed gigabit Ethernet camera technology with Canty’s high-intensity lighting, portable design, and imaging software to provide real-time particle analysis of solids, water, and air bubbles in oils and fuels. It works by flowing lubricating or hydraulic oil between a microscopic camera and a high-intensity light source. The captured images are analysed based on various parameters to determine particle size, shape, and concentration. Following ASTM D7596 standards, particles are classified into sliding, cutting, and fatigue wear, non-metallic particles, fibre particles, water droplets, and air bubbles. This classification offers a detailed understanding of the fluid’s condition and helps predict potential failures. The system’s portable design allows for field testing, ensuring fast and reliable results.
