J.M. Canty Inflow Transportable Explosion Proof Liquid Particle Size Analyser

ABLE Instruments are J.M Canty’s Exclusive Representative for Sales and Service in the UK, including the Inflow Transportable Explosion Proof Oil in Water / Water In Oil Liquid Particle Size Analyser. ATEX / IECEx Zone 1 approved, The Inflow™ Process Particle Analyser integrates advanced Ethernet technology with Canty’s fused glass, high-intensity lighting, and CantyVision™ Client software to provide real-time particle size and shape analysis. The Transportable Multiphase Meter models precisely measure particles ranging from 0.7 to 20,000 microns under actual process conditions, ensuring continuous monitoring of oil, water, sand, and gas content. By analysing oil-in-water (OiW) and water-in-oil (WiO) levels, users can track process variations in refining and drilling systems, optimising efficiency and performance.

This vision-based system delivers highly accurate phase separation and detection, offering PPM/PPB concentration data and detailed particle size distribution—all without the need for sampling or lab analysis. The Canty InFlow™ is designed for continuous, real-time OiW/WiO monitoring, providing microscopic, non-destructive analysis. Its two-dimensional imaging technology prevents buildup on the product lens, thanks to Canty’s advanced fused glass design, while its high-intensity lighting system enhances visibility, making crude oil and other substances easier to monitor.

Features:

  • ATEX / IECEx Approval for Zone 1 hazardous areas
  • Measures particles from 0.7 to 20,000 microns with high precision.
  • Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity ensures fast, stable, and reliable data transfer.
  • Real-time CIP (Clean-in-Place) Flow Tracking for continuous system monitoring.
  • Secure internal O-ring Seals provide leak-proof operation and long-term reliability.
  • Modular Design allows for quick and hassle-free installation in any system.
  • Durable Fused Glass Barriers enhance system longevity and process integrity.
  • Cold-Light Regulated iIllumination prevents product buildup for accurate readings.
  • Flexible Data Output Options including OPC, 4-20mA, Excel, and relay outputs.

The CantyVision™ Client software, installed on a user-supplied PC, connects via Gigabit Ethernet, enabling live process monitoring from any networked PC. The system’s camera and light are placed directly in the fluid stream, rather than against the wall, using Canty’s Fuseview™ sight glass. This unique inline optical design ensures exposure to the highest velocity and most representative sample, keeping the sensor clean even in harsh environments, such as polymer processing, crude oil, drilling mud, and epoxy applications.

With a fused glass seal free of gaskets, ledges, or steps, the system maintains a stable inline process temperature, preventing product buildup caused by thermal fluctuations. The image processor supports multi-zone sensing, allowing different regions within the fluid image to be analysed simultaneously. These results can be compared to baseline values for enhanced reliability, triggering automatic alarms when irregularities are detected. For permanent installations, a fixed InFlow™ unit is available for direct integration into process lines, ensuring seamless real-time process control.

Why choose the Transportable Inflow Analyser? The Transportable Inflow™ Analyser offers advanced particle counting and characterisation, accurately detecting oil, water, sand, and gas in real time. It provides precise output measurements in PPM (parts per million) and PPB (parts per billion), ensuring high accuracy in oil-in-water and water-in-oil detection. Designed for crude oil applications, it is available in various process connection sizes, making it adaptable to different industrial setups. The system is engineered for easy cleaning and maintenance, minimising downtime while supporting high-throughput processing for maximum efficiency. Additionally, it delivers both real-time in-flow measurement and a continuous live view of the product, enabling seamless monitoring and process optimisation.
