Magnetrol Model R86 Non-Contact Radar Level Transmitter, 26 GHz
ABLE Instruments are the Magnetrol’s Exclusive Representative for Sales and Service in the UK and Ireland, including the Model R86, Magnetrol’s latest generation of non-contact radar level transmitters. This 24 VDC loop-powered transmitter offers significant advancements, including an extended measurement range, circular polarisation for enhanced signal accuracy, and advanced diagnostics, making it more user-friendly than many other radar transmitters on the market.
The device operates using Pulse Burst Radar technology, which emits short bursts of energy toward a liquid surface. Ultra-high-speed timing circuitry then measures the return signal, while sophisticated signal processing filters out false reflections and background noise. By incorporating specific configuration details, such as tank height, the R86 accurately calculates liquid levels.

- Performance not process dependent (changing specific gravity and dielectric have no effect)
- 26 GHz operating frequency offers superior accuracy and resolution
- Antenna designs to +750 °F (+400 °C)
- Range up to 130 feet (40 meters)
- Quick connect/disconnect probe coupling allows vessel to remain sealed
